Game Structure
- Games consist of two (2) halves.
- Halftime includes a 1-minute break.
- The last two minutes of the game are stop-time after all made baskets if the score is within 10 points or less.
Timeouts:
- Each team has 2 (two) timeouts per half.
- Timeouts last for 45 seconds each.
- Timeouts can only be called during dead ball situations.
- Unused timeouts cannot be carried over.
- In the last 2 (two) minutes of the game, timeouts advance the ball to mid-court.
- Each team has one (1) timeout in overtime period(s). No timeouts can be carried over into overtime.
Bonus:
- Double bonus is awarded on the 10th foul per half.
- To prevent consecutive fouls in the last 2 minutes of the game, teams are granted one foul to give. The following foul enters the team into double bonus fouls.
Technical & Flagrant Fouls:
- Technical Fouls and/or Flagrant Fouls are at the discretion of the game officials.
- A player is ejected from the game after receiving two technical fouls, a Technical and Flagrant 1, or one Flagrant 2 foul.
- An ejected player receives an automatic 1 (one) game suspension and will be reviewed by MBA.
- MBA reserves the right to suspend and/or ban players ejected from a game for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Jump Ball:
- After the initial jump ball, any jump ball/tie-up situation will be determined by a possession arrow.
Overtime:
- If a game is tied at the end of regulation, a 2 (two) minute overtime period is played.
- Overtime periods are capped at 3 overtime periods.
- Foul counts extend from the second half, and an additional timeout is given to each team.
- The clock stops in the last minute of overtime only if the score differential is under 10 (ten) points.
- In a 3rd overtime, the first team to score wins (Sudden Death).
Team Size:
- Teams can have a maximum of 15 players on their roster.
- A minimum of 5 dressed players is needed to avoid a forfeit.
FORFEITS:
- If a team fails to put 5 players on the court within 15 minutes of the start time, that team forfeits the game.
Player Eligibility:
- All players must be registered with MBA.
- Players cannot play unless registered.
- Teams caught using unregistered players forfeit games they participated in.
Playoff Eligibility:
- Players must dress for a minimum of 3 regular season games to be playoff eligible.
- Injured players can be eligible if they communicate with organizers.
Bench Rules:
- Only registered players and designated coaches may sit on the bench.
- Non-registered players, non-registered coaches, and fans are not permitted on the bench.
Tiebreakers for Playoff Purposes:
- Tiebreakers are based on head-to-head records.
- If teams are still tied, point differential is used.
- If still tied after point differential, the team with more points scored advances.
